NEWS: Card reader fails to capture GEJ finger prints for the second time

Just like in the case of the last presidential election, the card reader refuse to recognize the finger prints of former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience as they tried to cast their votes in the Bayelsa State Governorship election.

It was gathered that the former President who arrived his voting unit early this morning to partake in the exercise could not be accredited by the card reader despite several attempts.

Speaking shortly after all the attempts, Doctor Goodluck Jonathan challenged INEC to rise up to the occasion stressing that many voters could be disenfranchised owing to the failure of the card reader to recognize voters’ finger prints.

Also, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, his wife and mother could not exercise their franchise as the card reader also failed to capture them for the governorship election.

Governor Dickson who spoke with newsmen wondered why after many months of preparations, INEC could not provide working card readers.

He however called on his supporters not to panic even as he expressed belief that despite the shortcomings, the exercise will be in his favour.
