Sports: Aubameyang Beat Yaya Toure To Win The African Player Of The Year Award

 

 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been crowned as African Player of the Year at the 2015 Glo-CAF awards.

The Gabon international and Borussia Dortmund player saw off competition from Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure and Ghana’s Andre Ayew to lift the award at an event in Abuja, Nigeria on Thursday night.

The Gabon forward won with 143 points with 2014 African Player of the Year Yaya Toure of Manchester City being named the runner-up with 136 points. Andre Ayew who plays for English Premier League side Swansea City placed third with 112 points.
